Friedrich PH14B Flame Sensor
The flame sensor can only be found on furnaces that burn a gas. It is a safety sensor that senses the proper flame while the system is starting. As with other safety devices, if the sensor produces an error the entire HVAC system will stop for as long as the problem remains.
Some clues of a failing safety flame sensor
- The unit works on certain occasions only after the second full moon of the month on a Tuesday
- Your gas furnace refuses to produce any heat whatsoever
- The gas that has entered the furnace has problems trying to burn and shut down
