Friedrich VEA18K Expansion Valve
Almost all AC systems have an expansion valve that allows the refrigerant to spread back into gas state from its highly pressured liquid form. Your home air conditioner would not generate and cold air if the expansion valve was totally worn out.
General indicators that your the expansion valve is on its last leg
- Your cooling system takes too long in its bid to cool as it should
- The air conditioned air is not as cool as than the usual air exiting the vents
