Due to the amount of dust in the house, it should be exchanged or perhaps washed a few times a year in order to keep things clean.
Major indications of a barely functioning dust filter
- The main filter looks brown and should be replaced today
- When you hold the filter up to the light, it will not shine through a clogged air filter
- Manufacturers have advised to switch out the air filter in your unit about every 90 days in order for the machine to run more efficient and to breathe easier inside
