This can both keep the unit dust-free and make it run much more efficient while also filtering the dust out of the air you breathe all day. Because it is really easy to do, it should be changed out or cleaned a few times a year in order to keep things clean.
Elements of an inadequate filter
- It looks dirty and probably should be replaced real soon
- Manufacturers have suggested to switch out the air filter in your unit every 90 days in order to keep the air free from too much dust
- If you place a light source behind it, the light is unable to shine through a dirty filter
