The filter in the wall unit is there for trapping really small dust parts and other small elements from the inside air inside the home. This filtering system will help keep the unit dust-free and make it run more efficient while, at the same time, filtering the air breathe in and out everyday. During regular maintenance it should be swapped out for a new one or perhaps cleaned thoroughly every so often in order to keep things clean.
Signals of a failing filter
- Manufacturers have suggested to switch out the air filter in your unit every season of the year to keep the unit running efficiently
- When you hold it up, the light will not permeate to the other side of a completely clogged filter
