The air filter has a main job of trapping really small dust parts and other tiny bits as it is being forced through the system. This can both protect the unit and make it run a lot better at doing its job while also cleaning the dust out of the air you breathe all day. Because of this, the filter should probably be swapped out for a new one or possible scrubbed clean at least twice a year if not more, in order to keep things clean.
Hints your filter should need replacing
- When you face it toward a light, the light cannot show through the filter
- Many pros have suggested to swap out your air filter about every 90 days in order for the machine to run more efficient and to breathe easier inside
- The main filter looks very bad and it would be a good idea to replace it as soon as you can
