The filter is there for filtering minute dust particles and other tiny bits from the inside air inside the home. The filter can both make the unit cleaner and help it be more efficient while also filtering the air you breathe. During regular maintenance the filter should probably be changed out or perhaps washed at least twice a year if not more, depending on how much you use it.
What happens when my dust filter has to be replaced?
- If you were to lift up the filter, the light will almost not breach the other side of the air filter
- The main filter looks gray or brown and perhaps should be replaced immediately
- It is recommended to replace the filter every three months to help prevent mold and bacteria build-up
