The filter in the wall unit is designed to be good at trapping really small dust parts and other tiny particles as it passes through. This can both protect the unit and help it be more efficient while also cleaning the air in your home. Because of the nature of filtering air, the unit filter must be exchanged or simply cleaned at least twice a year if not more, depending on how much you use it.
What red flags are there that my primary air filter is about to stop working?
- Professionals have recommended to switch out the air filter in your unit every three months to help keep the air fresh and make the unit run more efficient
- The unit air filter looks dirty and should be replaced right now
- If you lift the air filter up to a source of bright light, the light is unable to shine on the opposite side of the filter at all
