The filter is good at filtering minute dust particles and other particles from the inside air inside the home. This filtering system will help keep the unit dust-free and help it be much more efficient while, at the same time, filtering the dust out of the air you breathe all day. Due to the amount of dust in the house, the filter should probably be simply replaced or perhaps cleaned thoroughly at least twice a year if not more, in order to keep things clean.
Red flags of an unhealthy primary air filter
- The unit air filter looks gray or brown and the best thing to do would be to replace it now
- Manufacturers have advised to replace the filter about every 90 days in order to have clean air running through the unit
- With a light behind the air filter, the light will almost not break through to the other side of the air filter
