The unit filter was designed for removing microscopic dust and other small elements from the inside air inside the home. This can both keep the unit clean and make it run more efficient while also cleaning the air breathe in and out everyday. Because of the nature of filtering air, the filter should be swapped out for a new one or cleaned every so often in order to keep things clean.
Some warnings of an unhealthy dust filter
- The system filter looks dirty and it would be a good idea to replace it ASAP
- Light will not show on the other side a very dirty air filter
- It is greatly advised to swap out your air filter four times a year to help keep the air fresh and make the unit run more efficient
