The filter in the wall unit was designed for removing microscopic dust and other small elements as it is being forced through the system. The filter can both protect the unit and make it operate more efficient while, at the same time, filtering the dust out of the air you breathe all day. During regular maintenance the unit filter must be changed out or perhaps cleaned thoroughly periodically in order to keep things clean.
What warnings are present when my Frigidaire air filter is almost full?
- The main filter looks brown and probably should be replaced without delay
- It is recommended to switch out the air filter in your unit four times a year in order to have clean air running through the unit
- When you hold the filter up to the light, it is unable to infiltrate to the opposite side of a very dirty air filter
