The limit switch contains a sensor in the heating area that decides when the air is warmed to a point for the main blower to kick in and circulate the air. Limit switches exist because if the air is too cool inside the furnace to begin with, then you will never get hot air through the ducts.
General indicators that your limit switch will need replacing
- Your system is starting to ramp up but then stops more often than not
- Your Frigidaire system will not start or will not stay running for any significant length if time
