The filter in the wall unit was designed for filtering minute dust particles and other miniscule particles as it is being forced through the system. The filter can both keep the unit dust-free and make it work more efficient while, at the same time, filtering the air breathe in and out everyday. While doing regular cleaning of the houseZZZcommmaZZZ the filter should be exchanged or possible scrubbed clean at least twice a year if not more, depending on how much you use it.
Simple indications to an under performing primary air filter
- The air filter looks dusty and must be replaced before tomorrow
- If you place a light source behind it, the light will almost not infiltrate to the opposite side of a very dirty air filter
- Manufacturers have advised to swap out your air filter four times a year in order to have clean air running through the unit
