The blade attached to the fan motor for the outdoor portion of a split system has an important job of scattering all the heat that is released. Although the vast majority of blades are built well, they can get bent throughout the year for many reasons.
Clues to watch for to know the blade assembly is in need of replacing
- The edge of the blade is notched or somehow damaged for some reason
- The blade appears to severely wobble while turning and trying to cool the compressor
- The fins appears to be rusted or worn due to being outside
