The filter is designed to be good at removing small dust molecules and other particles as it is being forced through the system. This filtering system will help keep the unit dust-free and help it be much more efficient while cleaning the air breathe in and out everyday. While doing regular cleaning of the houseZZZcommmaZZZ the filter should probably be simply replaced or perhaps washed at least twice a year if not more, depending on how much you use it.
