The air filter was designed for trapping really small dust parts and other miniscule particles as it passes through. The filter can both make the unit cleaner and make it work much more efficient while, at the same time, filtering the air you breathe. Because of this, the filter should be changed out or possible scrubbed clean every so often depending on how much you use it.
General warnings of a faulty primary air filter
- The main filter looks very bad and perhaps should be replaced today
- It is greatly suggested to replace your air filter four times a year in order to have clean air in the home
- If you place a light source behind it, the light will not shine through to the other side of a dirty filter
