This simple filter can protect the unit and make it operate way more efficiently while cleaning the air you breathe. Due to the amount of dust in the house, the air filter must be simply replaced or cleaned at least twice a year if not more, in order to keep things clean.
Important clues of a failing filter
- Manufacturers have advised to replace the filter every three months in order to have cleaner breathable air inside
- The filter looks gray or brown and it would be a good idea to replace it ASAP
- If you place a light source behind it, the light cannot penetrate through a completely clogged filter
