The unit filter is responsible for trapping really small dust parts and other tiny bits from the air in the house. This simple filter can make the unit cleaner and make it work a lot better at doing its job while, at the same time, filtering the air you breathe. Because of the nature of filtering air, the filter should be exchanged or perhaps washed every so often in order to keep things clean.
Symptoms your main filter will need to be replaced
- If you place a light source behind it, the light does not shine on the opposite side of a very dirty air filter
- It is highly advised to replace the filter about every 90 days in order to have cleaner breathable air inside
- The filter looks very bad and must be replaced as soon as humanly possible
