The defrost sensor control board determines when to initiate an important defrosting cycle which assists to remove frost build-up that may accumulate. The control board is relayed information from a defrost sensor which is near the condenser somewhere, in order to decide when the defrost cycle should begin.
How do you know if your outdoor defrost sensor board is almost dead?
- Most systems will end up not running for the fact of the amount of frost on the outdoor unit
- Defrosting never runs especially when there is a rather large amount of frost on the outdoor unit
- Your main control board might issue an error of some type when a defrost board fails to initialize
