The filter is responsible for filtering out dust and other miniscule particles as it passes through. This helps keep the unit clean and make it run much more efficient while cleaning the air you breathe. Due to the fact that this is an important part of the system, the unit filter must be exchanged or perhaps cleaned thoroughly at least twice a year if not more, in order to keep things clean.
Some clues of a deteriorating primary air filter
- The system air filter looks gray or brown and it would be best to replace it soon
- It is highly advised to replace the filter about every three months to help clean the indoor air
- If you were to lift up the filter, the light does not infiltrate to the opposite side of a dirty filter
