The unit filter has the basic duty of filtering tiny dust fragments and other small elements from the inside air inside the home. The filter can both make the unit cleaner and make it run more efficient while, at the same time, filtering the dust out of the air you breathe all day. Due to the amount of dust in the house, it should be exchanged or simply cleaned every so often in order to keep things clean.
Signs of a declining filter
- If you hold it up to the light, it does not show on the other side a very dirty air filter
- It is recommended to switch out the air filter in your unit every three months to help keep the air fresh and make the unit run more efficient
- The main filter looks brown and it would be a good idea to replace it as soon as humanly possible
