The filter in the wall unit has the basic duty of filtering minute dust particles and other tiny bits as it is being forced through the system. This helps keep the unit clean and make it operate much more efficient while, at the same time, filtering the air breathe in and out everyday. Due to the amount of dust in the house, the filter should probably be simply replaced or simply cleaned every so often in order to keep things clean.
How do you know when your main filter is about to go out?
- Manufacturers have advised to switch out the air filter in your unit every 90 days to help prevent bacteria from spreading too much
- The main filter looks brown and should be replaced now
- If you were to lift up the filter, the light cannot permeate to the other side of the dirt filled filter
