The flame sensor is an important safety feature that will reliable sense the proper flame while the system is starting. For obvious reasons, when the flame sensor gets triggered by something the gas valve is shut off and the system halts until the main issue is remedied.
Signals to watch for in a bad flame sensor
- Your
system cannot produce any heat and produces an error code on the circuit board - The heating system will sometimes work occasionally only
- The main type of gas has a tough time trying to start an ignition sequence and closes down
