The unit filter is good at removing small dust molecules and other particles from the air in the house. This can both help keep the wall unit from building up too much dust and make it run way more efficiently while also cleaning the air breathe in and out everyday. During regular maintenance the filter should probably be swapped out for a new one or simply cleaned at least twice a year if not more, depending on how much you use it.
Major symptoms of a faulty dust filter
