The front panel of the wall unit is usually made of plastic and houses the knobs, buttons and the air vents which controls the direction of the air flow.
Some clues of a barely functioning main panel
- Main panel is missing pieces and is duck taped on to the unit
- The little air vents that are placed in the front cover itself are covered in duct tape
