Goodman AEPT030 Transformer
A transformer is used frequently in anything electrical including your AC or furnace as it is mainly used to alter electricity output from one voltage to another. Heating and cooling transformers are all different and you should make yourself aware of the exact amps and voltages needed. If a transformer needs replacing, it would be good to get one that is measured to the right voltage for the sake of safety.
Clues to watch for to know the transformer needs to be replaced
- Zero volts leaving the HVAC transformer while tested with the unit on
- System transformer physically appears cracked or have a burning smell white the system is on
