Goodman AMS Limit Switch
A normal limit switch is a type of sensor switch located in the furnace that decides when the heated air is warmed to a point for the air to begin normal home circulation. Limit switches are built because if the air is too cool inside the furnace to begin with, the you will lose heat in the ducts and the vents will just blow cool air.
Major indications of an unhealthy limit switch
- The system is starting to go through the startup sequence but stops quickly frequently
- System will not begin nor will it stay running for any length of time
