Goodman ARPT Cooling Fan Motor
The fan motor is primarily in charge of cooling the compressor, when heat is removed from the house, that heat energy has to be dissipated. The motor can be replaced by itself without the fan blade, this results in a simpler type of replacement and make it a probable DIY project. Be sure you buy a replacement motor with the voltage that is the same and amperage listed as on the current fan motor.
Key signs of a laboring compressor fan motor
- You may hear screeching sound when the cooling fan is starting or stopping
- The main cooling motor smells burnt or throws sparks as it turns
- The Goodman motor tries but fails to turn the blade
