Goodman ARPT Ignition Control Board
The main reason to have an ignition control board is that it oversees gas flow, the ignition timing and some more sensing equipment. It is an important board that some companies have moved to be a standard part of the main board in order to have better control over the system.
Cues of a poorly working ignition control board
- Ignition cycle is unwilling to fire up when it is supposed to
- Initial communication from the primary thermostat never makes it to the main board
- Any other device connected to the system checks out in good health
