Goodman ARUF486016 Cooling Fan Motor
The compressor fan motor is primarily in charge of cooling the compressor, when heat is removed from the house, that heat must be dispersed in order to keep things cool. The unit may be replaced without the need of replacing the blade too, this can make the installation go smoother and cheaper too. It is important that the replacement motor has the voltage that is the same and amperage listed as on the current fan motor.
Clues to watch for to know the cooling fan motor is failing
- The compressor cooling motor begins to smoke or throws sparks when it is spinning
- The Goodman motor fails to spin the blade
- A terrible grinding noise when the cooling fan is beginning to turn
