Goodman ARUF496116CA Thermistor
In an HVAC system, a thermistor is a specific kind of resistor which has a resistance that depends on the amount of, or lack thereof, heat. They convey to the circuit board when a temperature reaches a certain point. The main control board reads the temperature throughout the whole system to make sure everything is running smoothly.
Important hints your all-important thermister is dying
- The entire system may never begin due to any one thermistor that has failed
- The main fan could possibly fail in its attempt to ramp up to full speed
