Goodman GDH80703AXCA Cooling Fan Motor
The fan motor is responsible for keeping the compressor cool, because as the compressor gets hot the heat has got to be dissipated. Just make sure the replacement motor has the exact voltage and the proper amount of amperage as on the current fan motor. The motor on the compressor fan can be replaced without the need of replacing the blade too, this makes replacing it a lot easier to do and it is something you can do yourself.
Major indications of a poorly working compressor fan motor
- You may hear crackling noise when the cooling fan is starting or stopping
- The cooling motor begins to smoke makes a zapping sound as it turns
- The Goodman cooling motor tries but fails to turn at all
