A very basic thermistor is a thermal resistor, that has a fluctuating resistance that will fluctuate depending on the temperature at its location. They convey to the circuit board when the temperature has been reached. The system control board interprets the temperature in some specific areas of the system to do its job as it should.
What red flags are there that my temp regulating thermister is almost going bad?
- The heating and cooling system may never start up depending on which is the stuck thermistor
- The blower could refuse in its attempt to ramp up
