Goodman GDS80703AN Thermistor
In an HVAC system, a thermistor is a special kind of new age resistor that has a varied resistance that is dependent on the amount of, or lack thereof, heat. The heating and cooling system reads the temperature in order to make a decision on what needs to be done. They can tell the main board when a certain temperature reaches a certain point.
Simple indications of a bad thermister
- The main blower could never begin in its attempt to ramp up to full speed
- The heating and AC system may never start up depending on which is the stuck thermistor
