The flame sensor is a regulatory sensor that will sense the appropriate flame upon ignition. As with any other safety sensor, when the flame sensor is activated the system remains completely shut down until the main issue is remedied.
How do you know if your safety flame sensor is dying?
- The heat system is unable to work and shows an error code on the board
- HVAC system turns on occasionally when it feels like it
- The gas that has entered the furnace has a tough time trying to ignite and the system throws an error code
