Goodman GKS90904CXAD Cooling Fan Motor
The fan motor is responsible for cooling the compressor, this is needed because of the heat must be dispersed in order to keep things cool. Be sure the new motor has the correct voltage listed and the precise amperage as it is on the current motor. The unit may be replaced on its own without the blade, this makes replacing it a lot easier to do and a little less costly, as well.
Some warnings of a weak fan motor
- The compressor cooling motor catches fire or shorts out while it tries to spin
- An unpleasant grating type sound when the motor is turning
- The Goodman motor tries but fails to turn at all
