Goodman GKS90905DX Cooling Fan Motor
The fan motor is responsible for cooling the compressor, because a large quantity of heat gets released and that heat must be dispelled into the air. The unit may be replaced solely on its own, this will reduce install time and it is something you can do yourself. Take the time to ensure you find one with the correct voltage and the correct amp listing as it is on the bad motor.
Major signs your fan motor will die soon
- You can hear a screeching sound while the cooling fan slows
- The Goodman motor cannot turn at all
- The compressor cooling motor smells burnt or shorts out while in use
