Goodman GMS80703AN Thermistor
In an HVAC system, a thermistor is a thermal resistor, that has a fluctuating resistance that is directly proportioned to the amount of, or lack thereof, heat. They can tell the circuit board when a temperature in increasing or decreasing. The furnace or AC needs to know the temperature in order to do its job as it should.
Key signs of a poorly working all-important thermister
- The main fan may refuse in its attempt to begin full speed blowing
- The heating and cooling system could never start up due to a inaccurate thermistor
