Goodman GPC1448H41AB Thermistor
In an HVAC system, a thermistor is a type of resistor which has a resistance that will fluctuate depending on the amount of, or lack thereof, heat. They inform the circuit board when the temperature reaches a certain point. The main control board interprets the temperature in order to understand what is going on.
What are the indications that my system thermister is in need of a replacement?
- Blower fan may refuse to begin to ramp up the airflow
- The heating and AC system may not initiate the starting sequence because of any thermistor that has failed
