Goodman GPH1442H41AB Limit Switch
A normal limit switch contains a sensor in the heat exchanger that determines when the heated air is warm enough for the main blower to kick in and circulate the air. One big reason why limit switches are designed that way is because if the warmed air is too cool then the house will never get warm enough.
Some clues to watch for in a failing main limit switch
- System refuses to start nor will it stay running longer than 30 seconds
- Your system begins to behave differently on a regular basis
