Goodman GSC140421A Cooling Fan Motor
The fan motor has an important job of cooling the compressor, this is needed because of the heat that needs to be dispersed in order to keep things cool. Take the time to ensure the replacement motor has the exact voltage and amps as it is on the current motor. The motor can be replaced as a whole unit with the blade or by itself, which this makes installation simpler and a little less costly, as well.
Some warnings the fan motor has little life left
- The Goodman cooling motor tries but fails to turn at all
- A distinct crackling noise while the cooling fan speeds up
- The cooling motor catches fire makes a zapping sound when it begins to turn
