The system control board takes the temperature in order to ensure that things are as they should be. They notify the main board when a certain temperature in increasing or decreasing.
Indications of a dying thermister
- The entire system may never begin due to any one thermistor that is the problematic one
- Blower fan may refuse to begin to ramp up to full speed
