The main heat element causes cold air to be heated prior to the blower having it dispersed through the ducts. Your furnace cannot produce the warmed air for the whole home if the heating element goes out.
What are some indications that my main heat element has to be replaced?
- Little to no heat being turned out by the system whatsoever
- Furnace element can not heat up or not warm enough to produce heat because it is probably worn out
- Heat element looks eroded, rusty and looks like it should be replaced
