Goodman GSX130601 Cooling Fan Motor
The fan motor on the compressor has the main duty of cooling the compressor, because a large quantity of heat gets released and that heat must be driven away. Be sure the replacement motor has the similar voltage as well as amps as on the current fan motor. The motor can be replaced without the need of replacing the blade too, this tends to make things easier and it is something you can do yourself.
Symptoms of a failing cooling fan motor
- The main cooling motor smells burnt makes a zapping sound while it tries to spin
- You hear a crackling noise while the motor is just starting
- The Goodman motor fails to spin at all
