One big reason why limit switches are designed that way is because if the air never warms up the you will lose heat in the ducts and the vents will just blow cool air. The limit switch contains a sensor in the heat exchanger that senses, or governs, when the air is actually warm enough for the air to begin normal home circulation.

- The whole system is starting to go through the startup sequence but stops quickly more than once
- The HVAC system will not even start or run like it is supposed to
