Goodman GSX160481 Flame Sensor
The flame sensor is only found on gas furnaces. It is a sensor that senses the appropriate flame while the system is starting. For obvious reasons, when the flame sensor gets triggered by something the gas valve is shut off and the system halts until the problem is fixed.
Clues the Goodman flame sensor will have to be replaced
- The unit kicks in sometimes but only on the third Wednesday of on months beginning on Thursday
- The gas furnace is unwilling to start operating when the control board tells it to
- Any type of gas that has entered the furnace finds it impossible to ignite no matter what you do
