Haier CPN08XC9 Flame Sensor
The flame sensor can only be found on furnaces that burn a gas. It is a safety sensor that will consistently detect the exact flame when the system starts. As with most safety features, if the flame sensor gets set off everything stops until that particular problem is fixed.
Simple indications of a deteriorating primary flame sensor
- LP or natural gas will not begin an ignition sequence and shuts itself off
- Your gas furnace is unable to even begin to start and produces an error code on the circuit board
- The entire heating system will operate sporadically whenever it pleases
