The heating element causes cold air to be heated up before the blower has it circulated through the ducts. Your furnace cannot possible make any warmed air for an entire house if the heat element is broken.
What warnings should I watch out for to know if my heating element has to be replaced?
- No heat is being delivered through the system for an extended period of time
- Element does not look good, stressed and about to fall apart
- The heat element finds it difficult to heat up or reach max temp because it is probably worn out
