A flame sensor is a safety feature that will sense the acceptable flame when the system starts. As you would probably could have guessed, if the sensor get triggered the system will halt until the problem is repaired.
Major warnings of an ineffective furnace flame sensor
- The heat system cannot begin operations at all
- The LP or natural gas cannot begin igniting and closes down
- The heating system runs intermittently at the stroke of midnight after the second full moon following the second Sunday of the month
