The unit filter was designed for filtering tiny dust fragments and other tiny particles as it is being forced through the system. The filter can both make the unit cleaner and help it be way more efficiently while cleaning the air you breathe in your house. Due to the amount of dust in the house, the filter should probably be replaced or possible scrubbed clean periodically in order to keep things clean.
What signals that my filter is in need of a replacement?
- It is greatly advised to replace the filter every three months to help prevent mold and bacteria build-up
- If you place a light source behind it, the light does not shine on the opposite side of a very dirty air filter
- The filter looks gross and must be replaced right away
